Home Movies Asia New trailer Peninsula Presents an Unstoppable Zombie Squad

Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, the sequel to the horror action film Train to Busan, has just launched a new trailer that shows all the crazy and tense sensations from the South-made film. Just like the first film that was launched at the 2016 Cannes festival, Peninsula itself was also chosen to be screened at the virtual Cannes this year.

The new Peninsula trailer promises an action-packed film that is as tense as Train to Busan with a setting on the peninsula which is now a post-apocalyptic region. Chaos and invasion of the undead is endlessly presented by director Yeon Sang-ho by combining various types of "brutal acts" and sharp images.

Peninsula will take the setting four years after the end of the first film. The Korean Peninsula was destroyed and Jung-Seok, a former soldier who had managed to escape abroad, was given a mission to return and suddenly meet with survivors.

Although presented as a sequel, director Yeon Sang-ho who also directed his first film explains the differences in this film. Peninsula occurs in the same universe as Train to Busan, but is centered on a different character and will not be a continuation of the same story we witnessed before.

This sequel stars Kang Dong-Won (My Brilliant Life) as Jung-Seok, Lee Jung-Hyun (The Battleship Island) as Min-Jung, Lee Re (Witch's Court) as Joon, Kwon Hae-Hyo (The Crowned Clown) as Kim Noh, Kim Min-Jae (Urban Cops), Go Kyo-Hwan, Kim Do-Yoon, and Lee Ye-Won. Peninsula is scheduled for release next summer in its home country, but due to circumstances that do not allow this while there are no plans for an international release.
